Return to AboveSoft Predictor Manual
AboveSoft Predictor uses a single table to save all the information related to MultiProjects, Templates, Projects and Groups. It also creates cross-reference objects to improve performance when accessing this single table.
For this purpose it uses a special type of table available in every SAP system, which saves the information as data clusters. An example of this cluster database is table INDX. You can use that multipurpose table or create your own table as a copy of table INDX. This is the reason why you can start using AboveSoft Predictor as soon as you install the Windows-based application. You don't need to customize the SAP system, nor create SAP tables or secondary indexes for existing tables (cross-reference objects avoids the creation of secondary indexes).
By default, AboveSoft Predictor uses table INDX as its database, but it can be changed to any other type-compatible table by clicking Menu > Database > Change Database. All compatible tables will appear in that list.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
Due to the fact that AboveSoft Utilities is intended to connect to an SAP Development System, when using AboveSoft Predictor you will be saving MultiProjects, Templates, Projects and Groups to a Development Environment.
Keep in mind that all AboveSoft Predictor objects can be overwritten by a client-copy, system-copy or database-copy from a Production Environment to your Development Environment. To preserve this information, run the Backup & Restore utility available via the Database Menu.
REMEMBER TO RUN A BACKUP BEFORE A CLIENT-COPY, SYSTEM-COPY OR DATABASE-COPY
The Backup process is performed to a single file in a local workstation -the file is requested when running the Backup process. The Restore Process has two options:
